closing time...

So it's opening time - almost. This drawing actually made it to the banner. Lol..it isn't even a final piece - it's in my journal. I like it more though. I am starting to dislike final pieces.

done!

I am done with the scroll! Fan-fricking-tastic! I have to figure out where and how I am hanging it. Hell. :( I hate this museum crap though. I don't even want to fight much anymore. Space issues suck donkey balls.

I am still gloomy. I hate my drawings... no I will not post them through fear of derisive comments. Gack. No way! Ugh ugh ugh and they're on really nice paper and I can't afford new paper so I have to work with it. Eeeeek.

Just some other loose ends to fix up now. The journal is done... though I don't know how the hell to bind it. Oh well will have to sort it out somehow.

There is a light ahead... sigh. It will be over soon and I will be a much happier bunny. MUCH.

Scroll work

I've been working until I can't move anymore. The scroll was 35 feet, now it's 51'8". I hope it reaches to just under 51 though because I believe when it wraps around the rods it will be a little less. There's still some work to be done but it's almost complete! Hooray!

I just made up a simple design and dad made the finials with his trusty lathe. Even though they could have been bigger the material available just wasn't big enough. It's fine though, plus with the weight of the fabric and paper we're still not sure what will be happening at display time.

The trouble with gluing the paper to the fabric is mostly the goddamn fabric. I am using brown cotton and simple old Elmer's Glue. It's a process of ironing the material out, pinning it down, gluing a foot or so, pressing it and such. It's crazy and annoying. I sweat a good deal so that's a good thing. I've got limited space as well so that helps all the more. My living room is a mess and there's a couch missing. Luckily I live with understanding, accomodating parents.

Drawings

This is the stuff I've been playing with and much of what final pieces will look like for the drawing component. This is notebook stuff though but it's going in the catalogue. Joy. My final pieces will be on heavy watercolour stock, 22 x 30 in ink.
