Line & Colour Showtime!

We're on till the 16th! Come join us!

Here are a few photos from the show. You can find the rest here. For those who are not in the country, I will post a full art album after the show - you'll just have to hold on - we still need Grenadians to come in! Don't worry - the work will still be for sale!

Nadya Shah, Eddie Bowen, Alicia Milne, Tracey Chan

Me with the "Flow" Series

Nadya and part of her "Primordial" Series

Alicia and part of her "I am Here" Series

All in all opening night was intense, our week was long and tiring, but overall it was a fantastic trip for the girls, and for me. I miss having them! Boohoo :( It was great having my artsyfartsies to talk to again though, as well as having Eddie who was inspiring as always. We did some intense touristing over the weekend and I do owe my readers and my photoblog a bit of an update. I swear I only do the tourist thing when other people are here. Pathetic I know.

My thanks go to Caribbean Art Project for making this happen - Erik Johnson and Meg Conlon, the girls for coming up, Lexan Fletcher of Chit Chat (I've been on Grenada TV twice yo), the hard workers behind the scenes and everyone who has been awesome, especially my friends and family who continue to support my crazyosity.

Our buddy Anthony Grandy has done a great job on his review of the show, and is looking to be published. Anthony is a budding writer and collector (he bought a piece from each of us!). How fantastic is that?

Dara, Hayley, Sharla, Holly, Jase C, oh gosh the list will go on! <3 As William says, love you like peas ! There will be more gushing of love because I'm that kind of sappy.

I'm settling back in and planning new work again. Lots more to come. Whew!

Digital Series : A Preview

Black and white Back, 2010, Digital Illustration
There's more of these coming up. I'm not sure what I'll be doing with these digital pieces yet other than specialty prints and product lines. Something like that. Ideas?

Friends

So my friend Gary of TriniLikeSalt fame has tumblr'd me! Hooray! You should definitely check his work out. I continue to be humbled by my fans, like Lisa who is one of my number ones. Marc, who has been in awe, to Dara who has been one of my rocks. There are so many others - you twitter folks know yourselves, and my main people. To my followers, lovelies, thanks for ongoing support.
Thank you to all who have RT'd, and commented and been absolutely amazing.

It's a longggg painstaking journey. At least I think I am making progress. Sometimes it's REALLY frustrating as I sit here working for hours without a paycheck, hoping it "pays off", literally.

Just thought you should know you all deserve squishy hugs. You guys keep me going.
I have some other projects going on and that will be revealed soon. Can't wait to get that launched. :)

Beg

Beg, 2010, Mixed media on brown paper, 9" x 20"
I just really love this.I know you boys and girls like the huge asses... I'm not really into them, it's just how my hand flows - can't help it.

Head-heart flow

Head-heart Flow, 2010,
mixed media on brown
paper, 2.25" x 12.75"
I really love working on odd sizes and very vertically or horizontally - but mostly vertically. I don't know why. Must be Freudian?

Backflow

Backflow, 2010, Mixed media on
brown paper, 9" x 20"
I love working at this size... not bad. Nice flowy lines are my thing... I'll probably do more works at this size as well and piss off my framers :).

Lookdown

Lookdown, 2010, Mixed media on
brown paper, 9" x 20"
More new work for your cruisin' perusin' pleasure.
She looks sweet and innocent but somehow hates you. Ouch.

Threads

Headheart, 2010, Mixed media on brown paper, 9" x 10"

So instead of actually repairing a dress, I decided to use the thread for other purposes. Hah! I'm so domestic. Sewing, gardening and being generally less than perfectly Martha-esque.

This is a continued exploration of the work from the last show. I do like the thread though and there's more of it to come!

Forward ho!

Forward I & II, 2010, Mixed media on Brown paper, 9" x 18"

So these babies' new home will be in Australia. *squee* I am pleased that my collector is happy!

I've been trying to write a few blog-worthy posts and have failed miserably, so I'll just post them as they come.

It's not usually my style to be so wordless, but lately I think it's better to shut up and just do things.

There are lots of delays with the store, but no need for panic. I'll post the new work for pre-orders.

Thank you to my new subscribers! For the older subscribers, thanks for the ongoing support - you all are wonderful. Love to you! Cheerio my lovelies!
